Train Construction Pictures
The next couple of pages will cover a few aspects and theories of building a train to be used in your yard as part of your Christmas display. This is not intended to be a step by step instruction guide as each of you have different skill sets, resources, and budgets. There are many different ways a train can be built however; I will be illustrating what has worked for me and what has not.

Do your research and have a plan! This is the most important step to start with. Have an idea of what you want your train to look like and how many cars you plan to add over the years. Building an engine to pull one car is not very different than an engine to pull six cars but motor and battery selection choices could be significantly different. Find a model train, picture, or some kind of example of what you want your train to look like. You can add as much detail to the final product as you want or your budget/time will allow. OK, you have a plan and you have an idea of what you want so let’s get started.
