This year I was able to attend the Texas Mini-PLUS (PlanetChristmas Lights Up Symposium). What is a Mini-PLUS? It is a much smaller version of the big PLUS and is a local or regional gathering of PlanetChristmas members. This Texas Mini-PLUS was held at Annalisa Partanen's house in Allen, Texas on October 22, 2005. We had about 20 people attend from all over Texas and one member from Oklahoma.
Some of the events pictured below include Jeff Trykoski (Maroon aggie shirt) giving a demo on how to wire up LOR boards. Darryl Quinn (long-sleeved blue shirt) showing us his D-Light lighting control kits. He also gave us a sneak peak at his prototype of a wireless Bluetooth kit so you no longer need to have the first circuit board hooked to the computer. This will eliminate the first cord going through a window!
Annalisa Partanen (pink shirt) graciously hosted the event and even provided the coffee, pastries, drinks, snacks, and lunch for all of us. She did a great job and her hard work was much appreciated.
Jeff Womack (Hawaiian shirt) is pictured showing us metal brackets that are used to hold PVC pipe to create arches. He also demonstrated how to use a high voltage light tester and showed us all the new stuff he's found on the market. Jeff T. was outside showing some of us the great deal he got on some Home Depot wire. Annalisa demoed her home made fog chiller. It worked very well and looks great with her red LED lights underneath. The last part of the day was spent at Jeff T. and my home. The last three pictures are from Jeff’s house. Outside he was showing us his new wire and cable runs in the eves and how he mounts his LOR enclosures. We also found his extension cord stash in the garage and took a peek in his attic.What a great time! This is truly a great group of people and I am sure we are going to have many more gatherings in the future.
