Christmas 2009
We took the year off in 2009 to enjoy the arrival of our daughter Ashley. (Click here for Baby Pictures) It was a tough decision to not put the full display up and run the trains but we needed to slow our lives down and enjoy some family time. Putting the display up is usually a whirlwind of lights, boxes, cords, stress, and a sore back. This year, we slowed down and let Carter assist. He helped get the indoor tree out of the attic, and set it up. He showed his new sister the train under the tree and explained how it worked. We spent some time playing in the 'fort' built with the empty boxes used to store the big outdoor tree. I think he enjoyed this part the most. It was nice to work at a slower pace and enjoy the bonding experience that comes with putting up Christmas lights. The last photo in this group is of Carter on Christmas day cleaning up after the reindeer. We put a bowl of food on the back patio on Christmas Eve and it looks like the reindeer really enjoyed it.
