The 2008 display has a few additions but the majority of the work has been behind the scenes. During the summer we preformed some electrical upgrades to handle more lights and added timers and switches to turn the display off and on. No more going outside to plug-in cords each night or relying on photoelectric timers that come on at various times. A simple flick of a switch inside and the entire display comes to life. This year the train track will travel around the yard in a big circle and still be coordinated with the Toy Factory animation. We are no longer using X10 and a dedicated computer to run the train. All automation is handled by Light-O-Rama’s mini-director and trigger inputs from the train. Smoke stacks were added to the Toy Factory and a spinning star was added to the big tree to make it 24 feet tall. We rented a 40 foot extension ladder to hang lights on the roof and boy was that fun!
